i. Partnership Expectations and Instructions

By becoming an Omprakash Partner, you enter an international community of schools, volunteers, fundraisers, and donors. By allowing you to represent yourself within our network, our goal is to help you find volunteers and build a relationship between your project and their home community. We provide a platform from which volunteers can fundraise, recruit future volunteers, and initiate creative ventures to meet your unique needs. By working to facilitate communication between members of your project and other members of our network, we hope to help you teach the world about the social issues you face, and the ways in which you address them.

In order for us to achieve all of these goals, it is essential that our partners understand our basic expectations and join our efforts to create a global educational community. Please read and follow the expectations below, and please understand that we reserve the right to terminate a partnership at any time.

  1. Keep us informed. We cannot serve you if we do not know what you need. Please update your profile often and write multimedia “stories” so that you can keep everyone updated about the status of your project.
  2. We request that you do not charge volunteers any “administrative fee,” and try to offer volunteers free or discounted food and lodging whenever possible.
  3. Encourage all of your volunteers to write “stories” on our website. This enables volunteers to communicate with each other and become more effective supporters of your project. It also will increase the credibility of your project within our network.
  4. If your project has an independent website, please put an Omprakash link on your website. Please explain that our site is a free, non-sectarian database of volunteer opportunities open to people of all ages and nationalities.
  5. If you want to fundraise through our network, you can encourage donors to use the Paypal link on our site and earmark the donation for your project. More information is available at www.omprakash.org/donate. Feel free to put a link to this page on your own website.
  6. Thank your donors! If you choose to fundraise through our network, we will send you a monthly notice that lists the amount of money raised and the names of the donors. You can then specify how and when we should transfer the funds to you. We do not charge any transfer fee, but we will deduct all bank charges from the total amount that we transfer. We will send receipts to all donors, but we expect you to contact donors directly to express your gratitude and to explain how donations will be used.
  7. Most importantly: Work with volunteers before, during, and after their visit to build meaningful, long-lasting connections between your project and their home communities. This might entail pen-pal correspondence between your students and students in the volunteers’ hometown; it might involve ongoing fundraising efforts; it might be that you ask volunteers to help you research solutions to a particular problem—the only limit is your own imagination.
  8. Please understand that what you gain from this partnership will be a direct product of the relationships that you work to create and sustain. We look forward to working closely with you for years to come.

iii. Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement

Please complete the form below if you intend to receive donations through the Omprakash network.

This is an agreement made on Jul 30, 2010, by and between Omprakash Foundation and , hereafter “the Partner.”

The Agreement: Omprakash is willing to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions for the benefit and use of implementing the Partner’s charitable project. The Partner desires to use these funds in order to implement its charitable purposes. By entering into this Agreement, the parties agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Receipt of funds: Omprakash agrees to receive grants, contributions and gifts to be used for the Partner, and to make those funds available to the Partner.
  2. Acknowledgment of charitable donations on behalf of the Partner: Omprakash agrees that all grants, charitable contributions and gifts which it receives for the Partner will be reported at the end of every month as contributions to the Partner as required by law, and further agrees to acknowledge receipt of any such grant, charitable contribution or gift in writing and to furnish evidence of its status as an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) to the donor upon request.
  3. Protection of tax-exempt status: The Partner agrees not to use funds received from Omprakash in any way that would jeopardize the tax-exempt status of Omprakash Foundation. The Partner agrees to comply with any written request by Omprakash that it cease activities which might jeopardize the Sponsor’s tax status, and further agrees that Omprakash’s obligation to make funds available to it is suspended in the event that it fails to comply with any such request.
  4. Use of funds: The Partner agrees to use any and all funds received from Omprakash solely for legitimate expenses of the Partner and, upon request, to account fully to Omprakash for the disbursement of these funds.
  5. Fundraising: The Partner may solicit gifts, contributions, and grants on behalf of Omprakash which are earmarked for the activities of the Partner. The Partner’s choice of funding sources to be approached and the text of the Partner’s letters of inquiry, grant applications, and other fundraising materials are subject to approval by Omprakash.
  6. Termination: Either party may terminate this agreement by giving 60 days’ written notice to the other party. At the point of termination, Omprakash will transfer all earmarked assets to the Partner, unless the Partner has violated this Agreement. If the Partner has violated this Agreement, or has proven itself to be no longer capable of fulfilling this Agreement, Omprakash reserves the right to retain funds and assets earmarked for the Partner.

The Partner agrees to execute this Agreement.
