| Camera Grant OverviewWe offer Camera Grants to provide digital photography equipment for volunteers proposing to teach documentary photography to students at an Omprakash Partner abroad. Camera Grants are also available to individuals applying to teach students in their own home communities. If Camera Grant applicants would like to seek funding as well, we encourage them to also apply for our Volunteer Grant. We review our Camera Grants on the same four-cycle timeline as our Volunteer Grants. Deadlines are February 15th, May 15th, August 15th, and November 15th. Applicants can expect to be notified of a decision within two to three weeks of the deadline. |
![]() | Cameras in Costa Rica“The lone dirt road that runs through the center of town houses our classroom along with the only soccer field, church, and school. The first class ran for approximately 15 minutes before we had a bee swarm of students attacking the Kid’s Club and begging to use the cameras, no matter where their permission slip had ultimately ended up. Apparently, the words “Photo Class” scrawled across the top of the slip didn’t register in their young minds, but as that piece of paper became a reality, they couldn’t have been more excited.” Jonathan Katzenberg, Camera Grant Recipient at Abriendo Mentes, Costa Rica |
