Thanks for a great 2011!
2011 was a fantastic year for Omprakash! We are thrilled to announce that we surpassed our goal of raising $15,000 before the end of December. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we will now receive a matching grant of $15,000 from the Dalio Family Foundation. These funds will enable us to continue expanding the scope and impact of our work in 2012. We are grateful to all of the donors, volunteers, and Partner organizations that make our community what it is. Happy New Year!
An Educational Community
Our platform facilitates human relationships and mutual learning within an expansive network of volunteers, donors, classrooms, and grassroots social projects. We offer a free database of volunteer opportunities, a free online donation portal, and grants to help qualified volunteers defray travel expenses.
July 2012: Cross-Cultural Education Workshop in Costa Rica
We are excited to invite all Omprakash volunteers and project leaders to a five-day workshop that will explore different strategies for making cross-cultural interactions mutually beneficial and mutually educational. A special Volunteer Grant is available to support a volunteer who will help manage and document the workshop.
Partner Sustainability Grant: Supporting Social Enterprise
After reviewing impressive applications from 32 Omprakash Partners, we are excited to offer Sustainability Grants to Intag in Ecuador and Voluntario Global in Argentina. These strategic grants are aimed to help our Partners jumpstart entrepreneurial initiatives that will reduce donor dependency and broaden social impact.

The first thing that struck me was how friendly and excited the children were to meet a Westerner. In fact, my friends and I were the first to visit the village in over sixty years! |
