Tremendous experience that was everything I hoped for and more.
Did you feel like you made a difference?:
I felt that I made a difference by serving the immediate needs of the organization and the Ghanaian staff.
Organization and communication:
It was a small organization, so communication was often direct via phone or email.
Accommodation:
The house was very nice for the area, and as one of the first people to live in it.
Safety:
I always felt safe.
On the whole, my experience was everything I hoped for and more. I was able to live in a peri-urban environment and serve Ghanaian microentrepreneurs. I highly recommend volunteering with Lumana as they are a small, but growing, organization that tries to do everything right. I also appreciated the support and communication of the Omprakash community during my time in West Africa.
