Fundraising partneringPast projects:On the 25th of August we celebrated the approval of our first grant proposal written for CRUSA. This is a foundation, which supports programs and projects with the aim of promoting sustainable development in Costa Rica. www.crusa.cr CRUSA donates funds from its endowment, and we have been fortunate enough to receive aide in the amount of $10,000 to specifically assist in our corporate responsibility of just over $16,000 in annual fees to the Costa Rican Public Insurance System- Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social. We are hopeful that this is the first of many future successes in gaining the support of larger foundations who believe in and value our mission and goals.We are proud to announce that our accreditation process is well underway; we are currently waiting the official inspection by MEP. Additionally we are taking the final steps with the National Registry for making our association legally recognized. Once this is complete we will be able to submit our official proposal for accreditation with DECDOP. It is estimated that we should be nationally recognized and operating as an "Official Institution".On campus and on a daily basis our team of staff and teachers are working to create a new "Plan of Excellence" in which they continually work towards improving our program and are finding ways to better meet our academic and social goals. An initial component of this is charting out and defining specific social and professional behavioral expectations; our goal is to create socially conscious and responsible students and members for our community.And in thinking to the future, we are enthusiastically reaching out and promoting our school and program within the community in an effort to grow our student body. We hope to make our practices for education enjoyed by more youth of the Osa Peninsula; shaping student's minds and understandings of how to live harmoniously as a community and with the world's rich natural resources around us.In closing, we would like to thank you for the support you have given us this past year in helping to make our school a success! Without you it would not have been possible, and we hope that we can continue to nurture our relationships so we can keep growing and provide opportunities to create healthy, knowledgeable, and vibrant children ready to take on the many challenges facing our community and the world as a whole.
