Omprakash partner MVF runs ‘bridge courses’ for children who have been unable to attend school. Street kids and child labourers, some dropouts and some never attended school before spend 1-2 years completely immersed in a catch-up course that prepares them to go back to their local schools. The kids sleep at the course (in the classroom, no less!) and see their parents on weekends. The idea is to get them back in the school habit… kind of like rehab. Of all the schools and educational institutions I’ve visited so far in India, these young women took the cake.  They were vivacious, bright, and totally engaged.
