Mission Statement

Invest2Innovate is an intermediary organization that supports early-stage social enterprises and strengthens access to capital in new markets. We launched our pilot in Pakistan in September 2011, and are currently working with four enterprises, doing due diligence on several more, and are launching i2i Angels, an innovative angel investor platform that leverages the Pakistani Diaspora and local investor networks. i2i aims to strengthen the pipeline for entrepreneurship in conflict-affected and frontier market countries like Pakistan, working with local partner organizations to identify young and high-potential entrepreneurs and providing capacity development support to grow their businesses and attain capital.

Kalsoom Lakhani Kalsoom Lakhani is the Founder/CEO of Invest2Innovate (i2i), an organization that supports early-stage social enterprises and connects them to capital in Pakistan. She has written for NextBillion, Foreign Policy, Washington Post and the Huffington Post. Kalsoom is a DC co-ambassador for Sandbox, a network of innovators under 30, and is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. She was selected by Diplomatic Courier as one of the top 99 foreign policy leaders under 33 for 2012. Kalsoom has a B.A. in Foreign Affairs & Middle East Studies from The University of Virginia & M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University.
