Current Projects
Current Projects in Arunachal Pradesh
1) AWIC-VT managed Children’s Libraries in 13 hamlets of Lohit District, Arunachal Pradesh
a) A six-month-long Campaign on Reading Promotion in Lohit Schools by mobilizing the young readers and library volunteers to cover over 75 schools, 2500 students and 200 teachers across Lohit & Anjaw districts.
a) Reading Promotion Campaign- A team of young readers from the Tezu & the Police Welfare Libraries at Tezu volunteer to take the joy of reading to their neighbourhood schools through a 2 month-long campaign in schools 20 kms around Tezu.
b) Book Exhibitions in different hamlets of Lohit
2) A formal English Medium Residential school run by our sister organization
Partner Needs
• We are in need of volunteers to execute the current projects. The candidates should be proficient in English language.
• Proficiency in teaching Mathematics or Science is desirable for the School project
Financial Needs
• Setting up a Children’s Library in a locality US $125/-per annum
• US$ 75/- per annum for maintenance and continuation of an existing Library
• Gift furniture, accessories to a library –US $ 125/-
• Subscribe one set of magazines to the Library –US $ 75/-per annum
• Gift in the name of a dear one – US$ 7/- per magazine
• Sponsor a 3-day book exhibition in a remote locality –US$. 50/-
• Construction of Children’s library in its own donated land US $ 5,000/-
