Our sincere gratitude and thankfulness to ILP ( US & India Team ) and Om Praksh Foundation for arranging /providing the very useful books for the first generation school goers in our project area. We will monitor the usage of the books and share you the updates periodically. One Request : If possible provide some books for the seasonal migrant children of brick kiln workers - who are studying in the SSA bridge course centres ( 32 Centres) in the work places, Chengalpattu area, Tamil Nadu. This has been initiated as part of the Central Govt, State Govt, Employers Association , Trade Unions and ILO (ternational Labour Organisation) Once again thanking you, ILP Team & RIM Team for this great help. Best Regards Stephen Dear All: We are thankful to Volunteers of Om Prakash Foundation and ILP in the US, they collected amazing, useful and various kinds of Children's books from US. About 1 lakh books have been shipped to India and COVA, Hyderabad handled the customs clearance etc., While a portion of it have been taken by COVA, considerable books have reached HRF, ILP Bangalore, RIM, IRCDS, AID India and Seva Mandir. The books are indeed useful, nice, activity based, with feel and touch, games, flip cards on various sizes, design, attractive and on different subjects. Five big gaylords of books reached RIM office, Chennai were sorted out (some got mixed during downloading and also wanted to spread all kinds of books to all organizations) through some Volunteers for the last couple of days. Mr. Ramkumar and Shaswath also saw these books yesterday and felt that we can support special schools (persons with disability) and also government balwadis in the vicinity to help the children. We have also packed them to reach each Samaj Shilpi at village level (in smaller packs) and sending it to them through lorry services as we had Cluster Coordinators meeting today. Some pics are shared herewith. IRCDS have taken their books today, Dr. Balaji Sampath spoke to me that today or tomorrow they shall take the same. Regards Comments |
