We are DELIGHTED to have received the highly coveted BEST FARM IN BABATI AWARD from such steep competition.This is a great tribute to all who work on the farm, from Marcel the manager to Fauyme the night watchman. The market garden, the arable, the livestock, the fish ponds, the composting, the soil enrichment programmes, the wormery, everything.

One day workshop on System of Rice Intensification

In India Rice is stapled food. but it requires lot of water. Recently System of Rice (SRI) was developed in Madagasker, the same system is suitable in India to save water, seed, energies and increased productivity. One day workshop is planned for the farmers under the command area of Small water bodies (minor irrigation tanks) for adopting SRI method of paddy cultivation on February 2nd 2011.

I have been amazed by my reception here in Peru since I arrived in January 2009. I have been introduced to, and befriended some incredible people who have enhanced my life as much as I intended to enhance their lives by the work I had intended to accomplish here. The people that I love are the ones who step up, ask how they can help and what more they can do. There are many people like that here in Peru. There are many people like that in the world. A New Name for a continuing work with children

Changes for New Hope, Peru

    Esperanza de Cambio and its founder, Jim Killon, are please to announce that our new name has been received and accepted by the Peruvian government in Ancash Peru as "Changes for New Hope, Cambios para una Nueva Esperanza".   We now have NGO status which will give us a broader range of recognition, opportunities and support. Our focus and efforts to reach and help the poor and disadvantaged children here in Huaraz and beyond in Peru remain the same.    Currently we have four active groups who are benefiting from our efforts.  The ultimate success of these plans will rely extensively on donations and sponsorships as well as the solid dedication of volunteers who share our vision. Our Organization is a fast growing and the leading NGO with projects location in many rural/slum communities in the city of Lagos, Nigeria and we serve the rural and the poorest of the poor communities by providing holistic Home-Based Care Services to People Living with HIV and their vulnerable family members.  We also have a very strong Children Outreach program reaching the very poor Orphans and vulnerable in the rural villages with basic essential services such as nutritional foods, access to education and basic health supports.  We are in urgent need of Volunteers to occupy various positions in the organization in order to take it to the next level as more and more new rural communities are been discovered.  Positions available include and not limited to the following; ·     Resource Mobilizers·    ...

funds for a new dining hall

Golok Sengcham Drukmo Home for Girls, China

As a result of the recent Yushu earthquake, the Chinese government did building inspections on neighboring areas. They deemed one section of our dormitories and our dining halls unsuitable and have forced us to tear it down. The government offered to pay for the dormitories, but not the dining hall. Without a dining hall the girls eat outside and in the classrooms. We currently still need over $19,000 to finish construction before winter. The winters here are incredibly harsh and eating outside would be difficult if not impossible.

76 Perish in Kampala Bomb Attack

As thousand of people in the world joyfully celebrate the joyful world cup final Uganda was woken up to ateafull morning when a bomb exploded in Lugogo by pass and Ethiopian  village leaving over 76 football fun dead. Its was a sad day and the President declared one week of morning and prayer in different churches across the country. May their soul rest in eternal peace
