Seed Grant Program
We offer Seed Grants to jumpstart innovative service-learning projects on middle-school, high-school, and college campuses. Successful Seed Grant proposals address the real needs of our Partners, and simultaneously provide an educative and empowering experience for everyone involved. Active students and teachers of any nationality are eligible to receive Seed Grant funding, as are other individuals who propose projects that connect classrooms around the world.
Volunteer Success Story
“Before I left Massachusetts to volunteer in India, I received an Omprakash Seed Grant to purchase eight compact digital cameras. While the children at Rainbow Academy learned valuable technical photography skills, they also used the cameras to explore and reflect on their home, their culture, and their personal identities through a "Book About Me" project. I returned to the United States in with these books, and am now volunteering at Woodside Elementary School in Topsham, Maine as a digital photography teacher. At Woodside, fourth and fifth grade students are learning about India by reading and reflecting on these books, and are also creating their own Books About Me to send back to Rainbow Academy.”
