In
an effort to spread the word about volunteering opportunities to more high school and college students, The Omprakash Foundation
seeks to build relationships with schools and communities where potential volunteers may reside. Together, we can work to
incorporate the resources available on our website into the Service Learning, Diversity, or Global Awareness programs that
already exist at different schools. Students who wish to volunteer overseas or to tell others about their experiences can
use our Discussion Forum as a means to do so. Representatives from The Omprakash Foundation can visit campuses to talk more
specifically about our work and how our organization can benefit the student body.

The Webb
School, Bell Buckle, TN
On April 21, 2008, The Webb School invited us to visit and speak at the Diversity Day assembly to the
student body and faculty. We saw this visit as an opportunity to establish a relationship with the school that might bear
fruit well into the future. The forty-five minute presentation was followed by a chance to interact with the students in the
gymnasium, where we answered specific questions and highlighted parts of our Web site.
One of the main purposes of our visit was to find out
more about the school and the students’ interests in working with educational projects in other countries. Many students
expressed interest in what they saw on our site, while others suggested other areas in the world in which they have volunteered
but were not represented by The Omprakash Foundation. This willingness on their part to share their network and ideas encouraged
us, as it spoke directly to the vision of the Foundation. In an effort to know more about The Webb School, we asked students
to sign up to receive a survey designed with them in mind. The responses to this survey will help us work together with the
school more effectively in the future.
We look forward to a greater collaboration with The Webb School!
