Founder of Escuela de la Calle (EDELAC) Guadalupe Pos takes us on a journey through his organization's history. The extreme poverty in his hometown, Xela, inspired Guadalupe to start a school for the children in need; he began to provide support through education, social and health services. He soon discovered that tourists were interested in Guatemalan experiences: adventuring in the Guatemalan landscape, working in communities and participating in local activities. He partnered with a tourism agency to create a sustainable model with EDELAC and continues to see success in tourism, volunteering and education. This is a condensed version of his presentation from the 2012 Omprakash Cross Cultural Education Workshop.
