Another summer time in Africaprint story

Childline Uganda Uganda
Miao Wen

When I arrived at Uganda on 18th, Jan., I was amazed by the sunshine. It was cold winter back in China!

Several days after my arrival in Uganda, I was directed to the head of Childline Uganda, J.B. He was a hardworking and caring man, who had organized accomendation for me.  Soon after my transfering to the living place, which is in Trinity College, I began my work.

I have worked for 4 weeks here in Mytiana. Daily work is identifying orphans and women with positive HIV status in the village, giving presentations in other organizations working in partnership with Childline Uganda(orphange, school, microfinance institution, mytiana hospitals etc.). Life is never boring here, since you have so many things to do, to learn, to memorize.

It is such a quiet and peaceful town. Yet people here are very enthusiastic. I was invited to different pubs and different homes to enjoy my social life. And I worked with a Kenyian boy Vicent, who was so funny and smart(but also stubborn on certain things...). He contributed his talents on business to activities here, while I contributed my talents on teaching and developmental work here. I could also have free time on weekends to travel to Entebbe beach.

Besides, I love fruits here, for example I enjoy jackfruits a lot.

In the end, I want to thank Childline Uganda for providing me this opportunity to work here as an intern, and the channel to see what Uganda is like. God bless Uganda!

We have just finished pork here! That one is a really naughty boy...But somehow he is very quiet with me. I wish I could learn more Luganda to talk to children here~
