This is, of course, an ongoing process, and one that emerges differently for everyone. Here, we suggest a few ways that organizations and interns can make space for conversations about their work together as well as broader topics.
Whether collaborations are taking place in person or online, it can be helpful to have an end-date in mind (or at least a date at which you'll revisit your work together). It can also be helpful to provide ideas and set reasonable expectations for interns' continued engagement with the organization, where appropriate.
In person, there might be an opportunity to have an office party or exchange tokens of appreciation for your work together. In the absence of this, you might want to exchange notes of thanks or artwork to show appreciation. It might not be quite the same, but taking time to celebrate together in some form can help to bring some closure to your work together and sustain the good vibes created into the future.
